Maryam Nawaz rebukes Fazlur Rehman over army chief words
Maryam Nawaz vs Fazlur Rehman sharpened on Friday after the Punjab CM said the JUI-F chief was defending those she blames for backing terrorism and for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s decline.
Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif criticised JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in a Friday statement on X.
She said she had not expected a senior politician who had himself been a victim of terrorism to support those she holds responsible for backing militants.
She linked her criticism to remarks about the army chief and said those words had hurt patriotic Pakistanis.
She accused figures she associated with PTI’s long hold on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of incompetence, corruption and sheltering militants over 13 years.
She said only PTI itself was responsible for the end of its government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
