Health ministry scraps BHS overseas vaccination process
After suspending the Border Health Services system, the ministry will invite new tenders within a month, reshaping the meningococcal meningitis vaccine price in Pakistan for outbound travellers.
The Ministry of National Health Services has scrapped the Border Health Services vaccination system for overseas travellers.
Fresh tenders for meningococcal meningitis and influenza vaccines are planned within a month.
Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal said the process for pilgrims and overseas job seekers has been suspended.
Allegations put the new contract cost at about Rs4,500 per pilgrim versus roughly Rs1,250 per dose earlier.
Pilgrims are to arrange mandatory shots through travel agents until a replacement system is ready.
