Meta AI investment plans fuel $97.5bn equity raise
Meta AI investment plans now rest on a $97.5 billion equity raise after the firm lifted Monday’s $95 billion package and drew chipmaker interest.
Meta has lifted its planned equity raise to $97.5 billion to fund AI infrastructure expansion.
The package includes about $25 billion in common stock at $625 a share, $12.5 billion in convertible preferred depositary shares, and a future $60 billion at-the-market programme.
Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom have shown interest of up to $5 billion in Class A shares; Nvidia said it would invest $3 billion.
Meta expects capital spending of $135–145 billion this year and has flagged about $825 billion in future AI-related outlays.
Third-quarter free cash flow turned negative by $2.12 billion, the first such deficit in more than a decade.
