Mianwali girl killed after seven pistol shots alleged
Police say a 13-year-old was shot dead after her cousin allegedly stopped her and her father on a grocery trip; the suspect has fled and no arrest has been announced.
A 13-year-old girl was allegedly shot dead by her cousin Jawad in Mianwali, according to an FIR filed by her father.
The father said they were going to buy groceries when Jawad stopped them, threatened her over not wearing a hijab, and fired seven pistol shots; she died at the scene.
The father alleged Jawad, his brother’s son, had previously warned the girl against going outside without a hijab.
Police said the killing happened a day before it was reported; a murder-in-the-name-of-honour case was registered and efforts to arrest the suspect were underway.
