Mistral AI puts ML4 open weights online for cyber defense
The Mistral AI model release of open weights for Mistral Large 4 lets enterprises and governments download and run the system themselves for cyber defence, the company said.
French AI firm Mistral released open weights for its trillion-parameter model Mistral Large 4 (ML4), nicknamed “Le Chonk”.
The company says organisations can download, deploy and own the model for detecting, analysing and responding to cyber threats.
Mistral claims ML4 matches GLM-5.3 on performance while using 47 percent fewer tokens per task.
Weights are available on Hugging Face and through Mistral’s API.
Vice President of Science Pierre Stock said open weights mean access for defence cannot be cut off by an outside provider.
