Mobile Phone Tax in Pakistan: No Changes Beyond 2026-27 Budget
The mobile phone tax in Pakistan will not be cut further for now, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb told the National Assembly, and no date has been set for a fresh review.
The government has ruled out further tax relief on imported mobile phones in Pakistan.
Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb gave this position in a written National Assembly reply on October 14, 2026.
Income tax on phones valued at $100 to $200 fell from Rs930 to Rs100, and the mobile handset levy fell from Rs600 to Rs200.
The minister did not give a timeline for future reviews.
The government says further cuts would hit revenue, so the 2026-27 budget relief is final for now.
