Mohammad Amir enters APL draft as British citizen

Listed as a UK national for the Afghanistan Premier League draft, he needs no PCB NOC; he has denied rumours he will enter the IPL 2027 auction.

Mohammad Amir has registered for the Afghanistan Premier League draft as a British citizen after obtaining a British passport.

He is listed as a UK national in the Platinum category, with a $100,000 player fee, and Pakistan shown as his country of residence.

Because he is entered as a British player, he does not need a PCB no-objection certificate for the APL.

On 2 November Amir denied rumours on X that he would enter the IPL 2027 auction, saying news regarding the IPL was not true.

The APL draft is scheduled for 3 November in Dubai; more than 30 Pakistani players have also registered amid PCB NOC doubts.
