Munib Akhtar takes oath as Acting Chief Justice in Islamabad
Justice Munib Akhtar was sworn in as Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan in Islamabad while Chief Justice Yahya Afridi remains abroad on an official visit.
Justice Munib Akhtar, senior puisne judge of the Supreme Court, took the oath as Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan on Wednesday.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar administered the oath at a ceremony in the Supreme Court building in Islamabad.
He will act as chief justice while Chief Justice Yahya Afridi is abroad on an official visit.
Supreme Court judges, judicial officials and court staff attended the oath-taking.
