NA panel seeks school dyslexia support after HEC brief
The National Assembly education committee urged Dyslexia Act implementation in schools and heard that Pakistani universities rankings in QS 2027 place 18 institutions on the list, with Quaid-i-Azam and NUST in the top 500.
The NA Standing Committee on Federal Education, meeting in Islamabad on 3 November, called for full Dyslexia Act implementation in public and private schools.
It sought curriculum, assessment and exam accommodations so children with dyslexia are not disadvantaged in higher-education admissions.
The National Institute of Psychology and the Federal Directorate of Education plan a five-phase dyslexia support programme in Islamabad schools through June 2028.
HEC told the panel 18 Pakistani universities appear in the QS World University Rankings 2027, with Quaid-i-Azam University (381) and NUST (384) in the global top 500.
HEC has set up a Committee on International University Rankings and launched a fully online, paperless degree attestation system.
