Asad Mahmood faces NAB over 4,252 Post appointments

The former communications minister must record a statement before NAB’s Combined Investigation Team in Islamabad on November 10 over alleged illegal appointments at Pakistan Post.

NAB has summoned former communications minister Maulana Asad Mahmood for November 10, 2026, in Islamabad.

The inquiry covers alleged Pakistan Post recruitment irregularities in 2022 and 2023 during his tenure.

NAB cites hiring against 4,252 posts after 3,938 vacancies were allowed, including 2,646 abolished posts.

Allegations also include forged documents, overage candidates, domicile-quota breaches and regular jobs instead of contract hiring.

The FIA’s Islamabad anti-corruption circle separately summoned him for November 2 over the same recruitment probe.
