Pak ID NICOP: NADRA overseas services accept foreign SIM
NADRA says overseas Pakistanis can register on Pak ID with a mobile number from their country of residence, ending confusion over Pakistani SIM-only OTP screens.
NADRA spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali said a Pakistani mobile number is not required for Pak ID or NICOP applications.
Applicants must choose their actual country of stay; selecting Pakistan triggers a Pakistani-number OTP step.
A one-time password is still required to activate a digital identity on Pak ID, but it can be sent to a foreign number.
The clarification followed a question from a Canadian citizen during a NADRA podcast.
Overseas users can apply for NICOP and other identity documents through the app once the account is verified.
