Biometric check at NADRA restores wrongly marked death status
NADRA says people wrongly registered as deceased can restore their identity at a registration centre through biometrics, without extra documents or a court order for the record itself.
NADRA spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali said a living person wrongly marked deceased can restore identity records at a NADRA registration centre.
Restoration follows biometric verification; NADRA does not require additional documents for this process.
A court case is not required only to reactivate the NADRA record; police action over fraud is not NADRA’s job.
Wrong death entries can stem from incorrect or fraudulent registration at a Union Council, which is not subordinate to NADRA.
