47 held as NCCIA raids scam call centre on Sharea Faisal

NCCIA says a Sharea Faisal centre allegedly tricked foreigners into sharing banking details; five more suspects are still at large.

NCCIA Karachi arrested 47 people in a raid on a suspected illegal call centre on Sharea Faisal.

Agency says the centre allegedly obtained foreigners’ banking data through deceptive calls.

Five suspects remain absconding; a PECA case has been registered against 52 people.

Officers recovered 50 laptops, 26 phones, one desktop and other digital material.

A magistrate remanded the 47 suspects to NCCIA custody for three days.
