Naqvi says cybercrime agency NCCIA has too few investigators

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi says the agency has only 61 officers in Punjab and that he will take the shortage to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the NCCIA has a severe shortage of investigators.

He will raise the staffing problem with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Naqvi said the agency has 61 officers across Punjab, a province he put at around 140 million people.

He said some cybercrime cases involve transactions from Rs10,000 to millions of rupees and need quick decisions.

He called for a nationwide awareness campaign to protect women and girls from online blackmail.
