NCCIA illegal call center raid: no more deportations
Foreign suspects will face Pakistani courts and local prison terms before any return home, ending the earlier practice of removing them as undesirables without jail time.
The NCCIA will prosecute foreign nationals caught in illegal call center raids under Pakistani law instead of deporting them first.
Convicted foreigners will serve prison terms in Pakistan before being sent to their home countries, officials said.
Chinese citizens made up the largest share of earlier deportees; Indonesian and Vietnamese nationals were also involved.
Last month, raids on seven illegal call centers led to more than 600 arrests, with challans filed and suspects jailed.
