One Constitution Avenue scandal: Hafeez Shaikh named mastermind
A joint investigation team linked the ex-finance minister to former CDA officials, urged NAB to file a reference within three months, and backed a fresh auction of the project.
A JIT named former finance minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh the alleged mastermind of the One Constitution Avenue scandal in Islamabad.
Former CDA officials, including ex-chairman Kamran Lashari, Faisal Awan and Azhar Ali Chaudhry, were also named.
The team said the project caused losses to the national exchequer and undue gains for individuals and associates.
It recommended blacklisting Shaikh from government projects and asked NAB to file a reference within three months.
Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal confirmed the findings and said the project would be re-auctioned transparently.
