OpenAI decision model reaches all customers via its Decisions API

The OpenAI decision model, offered through its Decisions API, is now open to all customers, with new voice and visual options and faster responses.

OpenAI made its Decisions API, which serves its decision model, available to all customers on Thursday, 22 October 2026.

The company announced the API at its developer day on September 29.

The model was built by reconfiguring ChatGPT Luna for faster responses and lower cost, rather than training a new one.

Trial customers including Box, Datadog, Ramp and Speak used it; Speak cut the time between actions from 1.4 seconds to 0.13 seconds.

On two public indexes, TypeSafe's latest Jev ranks seventh and third, while OpenAI's model ranks eighth and fourteenth.
