Pakistan Afghanistan tension rises as Islamabad rebukes Kabul
The information ministry said terrorism from Afghan soil remains the main obstacle to normal ties after Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid blamed Islamabad’s policies.
Pakistan’s information ministry on Saturday accused the Afghan Taliban of shifting blame and refusing to confront terrorism from Afghan soil.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said Islamabad’s “wrong policies” were blocking a settlement and that Pakistan lacked readiness for talks.
Islamabad called terrorism a red line and reserved the right to take necessary measures under international law to remove security threats.
Talks last year via Qatar and Turkiye, and China-backed efforts this year, produced no breakthrough on key issues.
Border clashes continued into October; fire at Angoor Adda on Tuesday killed one local and injured a family of five.
