Pakistan Army to weigh any Yemen military support request
ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said he knows of no formal request so far, as Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia keep regional tensions high.
ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Pakistan may consider any direct military assistance request from Yemen's internationally recognised government.
He said that, to his knowledge, no formal request has been made so far.
Any request would be for the government of Pakistan to evaluate and respond to.
The remarks come amid Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and fighting with the Saudi-led coalition.
Lt Gen Chaudhry called for a negotiated settlement and warned that escalation would benefit no country.
