Pakistan China AI: WAICO entry as US builds Pax Silica

Pakistan is among 29 founding members of China’s World AI Cooperation Organization (WAICO).

The US-led Pax Silica offers chips, AI technology and manufacturing ties, but only to trusted partners.

The US State Department has warned that countries backing China’s AI initiatives cannot join Pax Silica.

WAICO founding members include Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Russia and 26 other nations.

China has funded AI-related projects in at least 77 low- and middle-income countries.
