Four men killed by a landmine in Hajira, near the LoC
AJK’s public relations office said four men died on the spot in Hajira tehsil, Poonch, while repairing a spring-water pipeline. Dawn reported that the mine had floated in from the Indian side.
Dawn, citing AJK’s Directorate General of Public Relations, said four men were killed on Monday in Hajira tehsil, Poonch, near the Line of Control.
The DGPR said they were repairing a spring-water pipeline when a landmine that had floated in from the Indian side exploded. All four died on the spot.
Poonch Divisional Commissioner Sardar Waheed Khan told Dawn that Indian Army personnel had planted the mine.
Geo News named the four as Faizan Sagheer, Ishtiaq, Asim Rafiq and Waqas Sharif, at Mehndla Madarpur village. Dawn’s report does not give those names.
