Pakistan decides on 18 LNG cargoes for November to February
Unnamed sources say Pakistan's winter gas demand will be met partly through LNG shipments from November to February, with Qatari supply preferred and spot buys as a backup.
Pakistan has decided to buy 18 imported LNG cargoes for the November to February period.
Qatari supply gets preference for lower prices; spot cargoes are the fallback if deliveries are late.
Domestic gas is expected to average about 1.4 billion cubic feet per day in winter, while Punjab alone could need up to 1 billion.
An earlier LNG price cut of up to $3.91 per MMBTU was notified by OGRA, leaving Sui Northern at $15.19 and Sui Southern at $14.22.
