KP reports sixth polio case as national tally hits eight
A 13-month-old girl from Tehsil Bara in Khyber District is the country’s eighth polio case of 2026; a drive covering nearly 24 million children runs from 2 to 8 November.
The NEOC confirmed Pakistan’s eighth polio case of 2026 in Khyber District, KP.
The child is a 13-month-old girl from Union Council Janbaz-B in Tehsil Bara — Khyber’s second case this year.
Six of eight 2026 cases are from KP and two from Sindh; the Peshawar Block shows environmental virus detections.
A subnational campaign from 2 to 8 November aims to protect nearly 24 million children in 97 districts, including Khyber.
Authorities say four large-scale 2026 campaigns have already protected more than 45 million children multiple times.
