The Shandong Redwood arrived from Qatar on 28 October and berthed at Engro Elengy, as Pakistan prepares for a sharp rise in winter gas demand.

The vessel Shandong Redwood arrived from Qatar on 28 October and berthed at the Engro Elengy LNG terminal for regasification.

It is Pakistan’s third liquefied natural gas cargo this month, after Al-Areesh on 13 October and Ejnan on 21 October.

The cargo was priced at 13.37 per cent of Brent and was reportedly arranged with Iranian officials’ help amid Strait of Hormuz tensions.

Authorities are expected to arrange three to four LNG cargoes in November, then nine in December and 11 in January.

Winter demand is projected to rise sharply on SNGPL and SSGC networks covering Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan.
