Pakistan warns India over strategic balance in South Asia
Pakistan warns India over reported submarine-based nuclear deployment, with former Strategic Plans Division heads citing the May 2025 conflict as a warning sign.
Khalid Kidwai, an adviser to the National Command Authority, said Pakistan could review its deployment options to restore strategic balance.
He spoke at the second Islamabad Non-Proliferation Conference, hosted by the Strategic Vision Institute.
Kidwai and retired Lt Gen Sarfraz Sattar cited reports that India deployed around 12 nuclear warheads on a submarine.
Sattar said the May 2025 conflict was more lethal than the 2019 confrontation and warned of escalation through miscalculation.
