Khawaja Asif Links Tehran Talks to Saudi Security Push
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif says Riyadh’s security matters as much as Pakistan’s own, citing a three-country pact and Tehran talks with Iran and Türkiye.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Pakistan will defend Saudi Arabia with “full force”.
He said Saudi Arabia’s defence is as important to Islamabad as protecting Pakistan’s own territory.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir joined Saudi, Iranian and Turkish officials in Tehran for regional dialogue.
Asif cited a written three-country commitment to respond jointly to covered threats.
He linked the Tehran initiative mainly to Saudi developments and said talks may ease wider tensions.
