Pakistan names Nov 25 for first China-based astronaut flight
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said the flight will lift off from a Chinese centre, with one of two pilots still in training expected to serve as a payload specialist.
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan’s first astronaut will fly from a Chinese space centre on November 25.
The announcement came at World Space Week’s closing ceremony in Narowal, held with Suparco.
Candidates are pilots Muhammad Zeeshan Ali and Khurram Daud, selected in April and training in Beijing; China has not named who will fly.
The chosen crew member is expected to work as a payload specialist on China’s Tiangong station, running Pakistani science experiments.
Iqbal also set out a 2035 lunar-landing aim and plans for a Space Museum at the University of Narowal.
