Wasiq vows to defend the Taliban, and does not name Pakistan
Afghanistan International says Abdul Haq Wasiq spoke in Maidan Wardak about defending the Taliban against aggression, without naming a country. Pakistan’s recent strikes are the outlet’s context.
Afghanistan International names Taliban intelligence chief Abdul Haq Wasiq and says he spoke at a gathering in Maidan Wardak.
He said the administration would defend itself against any aggression. The report says he did not name a country.
The outlet says Pakistan has struck at least six Afghan provinces over three weeks, and that the Taliban has not taken clear military action in reply.
It quotes a senior Taliban official, speaking earlier, that Hibatullah Akhundzada had not authorised retaliation against Pakistan.
