Peeda Act probe ordered against ex-Auqaf secretary Bukhari
The Punjab chief minister has opened Peeda Act proceedings against Dr Tahir Raza Bukhari over an alleged illegal Khateeb house allotment and Rs8.162 million compensation tied to the Neela Gumbad project.
Punjab has ordered Peeda Act disciplinary proceedings against former Auqaf secretary Dr Tahir Raza Bukhari.
He is accused of illegally allotting Unit-54, a Khateeb-reserved house at Jamia Masjid Neela Gumbad, to Shahid Ishaq in December 2023.
The order links the allotment to Rs8.162 million in compensation paid against state property in the Neela Gumbad project.
P&DB Chairman Dr Naeem Rauf will inquire and report within 60 days; Bukhari has seven days to file a written defence.
The order also recommends recovering about Rs34 million from Bukhari and ex-director Khalid Mehmood Sandhu over alleged financial irregularities.
