Peshawar schools closed Monday, Dawn says open Tuesday
Schools, colleges and universities in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan and Nowshera are closed on Monday, 12 October, and exams in Mardan and Nowshera are cancelled.
All public and private schools, colleges and universities in District Peshawar are closed on Monday, 12 October, under a Deputy Commissioner notification reported by APP.
Swabi, Mardan and Nowshera issued separate notifications closing public and private institutions the same day.
Examinations set for Monday in Mardan and Nowshera are cancelled, and no new dates have been announced.
Dawn reported that educational institutions in Peshawar are to remain open on Tuesday.
ProPakistani said the Swabi, Mardan and Nowshera closures followed an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; APP gave no reason for the Peshawar order.
