Petroleum Division seeks LPG pricing shift to PSO, SSGC

An October 27 memorandum asks the federal cabinet to let PSO and SSGC LPG Limited set domestic rates under import parity from November 1, replacing OGRA notifications.

The Petroleum Division proposes that PSO and SSGC LPG Limited set domestic LPG prices instead of OGRA from November 1.

An October 27 memo put the plan before the federal cabinet; an earlier draft went to the Cabinet Committee on Energy on September 30.

A subsidy fund for eligible BISP households is envisaged; industry representatives have raised conflict-of-interest and consumer-cost concerns, and cabinet approval is still required.
