Privatisation Commission merger with P3A proposed in NA
A National Assembly draft would dissolve the Public-Private Partnership Authority, fold its work into a renamed commission led by Muhammad Ali, and rewrite how asset sales and infrastructure deals are run.
A National Assembly bill would replace separate privatisation and PPP agencies with one commission.
Muhammad Ali would head the new body; its board would be mostly from the private sector, with at least two women.
Four non-lapsing funds could draw on the federal budget, lenders and investment returns.
PPP contracts would be treatable as public records; existing P3A deals would move across intact for private partners.
P3A staff could stay up to six months; the draft also adds good-faith legal protection for officials.
