Ali Amin Gandapur joins PTI KP meet on Governor's Rule
More than 40 provincial lawmakers, with Ali Amin Gandapur and Barrister Gohar present, backed dialogue aimed at lifting the emergency and restoring the party’s mandate.
PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa parliamentary party backed negotiations with the federal government to end Governor's Rule and the provincial emergency.
More than 40 lawmakers took part, including former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur; Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Noor-ul-Haq Qadri also joined.
Some members proposed including Gandapur in the negotiating team; Shaukat Yousafzai said there should be no objection if that was the party’s choice.
Members welcomed workers’ decision not to protest after the measures were imposed, citing fears of unrest similar to May 9.
Barrister Gohar said a majority of PTI National Assembly lawmakers also favour talks with the Centre.
