Punjab home secretary: all charities must register with PCC
At its 26th meeting in Lahore, the Punjab Charities Commission said it is training NGO staff, adding audit tools, and can revoke donation permits after violations.
The Punjab Charities Commission says it stays in regular contact with 8,345 NGOs across the province.
Staff are being trained to reduce money-laundering and terror-financing risks, with a new audit management system.
Suspicious activity can trigger inquiries and audits; donation-collection permission may be revoked for violations.
Registration of all charitable organisations with the commission is mandatory, Punjab Home Secretary Dr Ahmad Javed Qazi said.
Tools cited include a chatbot, a risk-based assessment framework, and guidance for trustees and staff.
