Qatar Airways suspends Riyadh and Dammam flights

Qatar Airways on Monday suspended flights to Riyadh and Dammam. King Khalid was ordered shut until midnight Monday, and carriers including PIA cancelled Pakistan–Riyadh flights.

Qatar Airways on Monday temporarily suspended flights to and from Riyadh and Dammam, citing the “current situation,” as Yemen’s Houthi group intensifies attacks.

Saudi civil aviation authorities extended King Khalid International Airport’s closure by 24 hours, until midnight Monday, to inspect radar and communications.

Hundreds of flights were canceled or delayed. Lufthansa Group’s Riyadh pause runs until October 16, SriLankan Airlines until October 18, Air India until October 15, and Akasa Air until October 13.

From Pakistan, PIA flight PK-753 was diverted to Dammam on Sunday, 28 flights were canceled that day, and aviation sources said 32 more Riyadh-bound flights were canceled on Monday.

Dammam resumed after a six-hour suspension. Operations at Jeddah and Madinah were also disrupted.
