Saudi strikes: Houthis allege 109 raids, 17 dead in Yemen

Houthi health officials say children made up most of the dead and name five governorates hit, while the Saudi-led coalition reports downing a drone near Makkah.

Houthis said Saudi air attacks left 17 civilians dead across two days this week.

Spokesperson Yahya Saree alleged 109 raids in 24 hours in Saada, Taiz, Lahj, Al-Jawf and Hodeidah.

A Houthi health ministry statement said most of the dead were children and accused warplanes of hitting homes and markets.

The Saudi-led coalition said it destroyed a drone near Makkah; Saree denied any Houthi attack on Saudi soil that day.

The UN puts deaths above 1,600 and displacement above 300,000 since fighting resumed; Aramco reported a 34.6% rise in third-quarter net profit.
