The Sindh High Court dismissed the provincial government's appeal against Mahrang Baloch's acquittal in a sedition case on Monday.
The court declared the appeal non-maintainable and questioned why the prosecution appealed when the FIR complainant was a private individual.
Mahrang was booked in October 2024 on terrorism and sedition charges and was later acquitted by a Karachi anti-terrorism court.
She remains in Quetta prison in connection with other cases, and her conviction in a separate Gwadar case is pending before the Balochistan High Court.
