SHC bans fake green plates, emblems on private cars

Chief Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput told staff, judicial officers and lawyers to clear emblems, lights and fake plates within seven days or lose entry to courts across Sindh.

The Sindh High Court directed staff, judicial officers and lawyers to remove unauthorised green number plates and official symbols from private vehicles within seven days.

The circular, issued on Chief Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput’s instructions, also bans emblems, seals, blue lights, beacons, fake government or AFR plates and concealed registration numbers.

Non-compliant vehicles will be denied entry to the SHC, City Courts and district and sessions courts across Sindh; police may take legal action.

Vehicles covered by Rule 76(1) of the Sindh Legal Practitioners and Bar Council Rules, 2017, are exempted.

Social media activists had earlier flagged fake High Court or police-style plates and plaques hiding registration numbers on court premises.
