Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced plans for a national sports conference to chart a sports revival strategy.
The announcement came in Islamabad on Saturday at a ceremony for Asian Games medallists, who won two silver and eight bronze medals.
Officials, former players and current athletes from across the federation and provinces are expected to take part.
He called for equal training chances without discrimination and flagged youth interest in football and e-sports.
Prize cheques were handed to the medal winners at the same event.
