Shikarpur anti-polio drive set for under-fives Nov 2–5

Deputy commissioners reviewed door-to-door plans on Friday; Quetta will field 1,600 teams and 1,800 security staff to vaccinate children under five.

Shikarpur’s district-wide anti-polio drive runs from 2 to 5 November 2026; Quetta’s campaign begins on 2 November.

Deputy Commissioners Dr Sharjeel Noor Channa (Shikarpur) and Mehrullah Badini (Quetta) chaired preparation meetings on Friday.

Quetta’s target is 429,000 children, with 1,600 polio teams and 1,800 security personnel assigned.

Teams are to visit homes and give drops to every child under five; refusal cases must still be covered.

Parents were urged to cooperate so no child is left without vaccination.
