Sialkot-Kharian M-12 Finish Now Set for February 2028
The latest Sialkot Kharian Motorway update shows the 69km M-12 still at one-fifth completion, with funding gaps and land acquisition delays pushing the finish target to February 2028.
Only 20% of the 69km Sialkot (Sambrial)–Kharian Motorway (M-12) is complete, the federal government told Punjab.
The Rs89.739 billion project, launched in October 2022, was first due in September 2024; the revised target is February 2028.
Fund shortages and slow land-acquisition gazette work in Sialkot and Gujrat have held up construction.
The ECC approved Rs27.62 billion in sovereign guarantees in August 2026; work resumed in February 2026.
The Prime Minister’s Office wants Punjab’s chief secretary to speed up land acquisition.
