One dead in Sialkot wedding stampede at Faraz Ground
A Sialkot wedding stampede at Faraz Cricket Ground on Daska Road killed one person and injured 18 others; police have arrested six suspects after a lucky-draw crowd crush.
One person, Aqeel son of Bashir Ahmed, died and 18 others were injured in a stampede at a wedding function at Faraz Cricket Ground on Daska Road, Sialkot.
Police arrested six suspects; an FIR names nine organisers and the ground owner, plus 40 to 45 unidentified security guards.
Rescue 1122 took the injured to nearby hospitals; all 18 were discharged after treatment.
Police say a social-media lucky draw drew a huge crowd, and a loudspeaker call for everyone to enter at once triggered the crush.
DPO Sialkot Captain (retd) Dost Muhammad oversaw rescue and crowd control; raids continue for remaining suspects.
