Islamabad SEZ land search underway with Punjab: SIFC

Lt Gen Asad ur Rehman Afzal Cheema told Islamabad traders that talks with Punjab on a suitable SEZ site are in progress and should be settled soon.

SIFC says suitable land for an Islamabad Special Economic Zone is being identified with the Punjab government.

The assurance came in a meeting with an ICCI delegation led by President Mohammad Zikria Akbar Zia.

SIFC endorsed an exhibition centre near Islamabad and pointed traders to the Karachi Industrial Estate.

ICCI flagged SBP debt-recovery rules, high port charges, and called for a ten-year policy horizon.
