Sindh Irrigation faces Rs23.95bn audit findings for 2024-25
A 54-point audit for 2024-25 has gone to the Sindh irrigation secretary, citing contract splitting, irregular payments and weakly justified flood-embankment spending.
An audit flagged Rs23.95 billion in financial irregularities and rule violations in Sindh’s Irrigation Department for 2024-25.
The 54-point report cites contract awards, procurements, bill clearance and development-project procedures as problem areas.
Spending of millions of rupees on filling flood-embankment breaches lacked satisfactory legal or documentary justification, auditors said.
The Auditor General of Pakistan has forwarded the report to the Sindh irrigation secretary for further action.
Auditors recommended a transparent investigation and legal action against officials found responsible.
