Trump confirms Qeshm strikes as Iran warns of retaliation
Trump confirmed US strikes on an anti-aircraft site on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, calling the raid a minor hit as Tehran warned it remains ready for battle.
President Donald Trump confirmed US strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, calling them a “minor attack” on a newly built anti-aircraft facility.
US officials described the action as limited and defensive, saying it followed Iranian surface-to-air fire against US assets in the region.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran still seeks a solution through dialogue, while negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Iran is “ready for battle” with “the ball” in America’s court.
Qatar says it is still mediating and hopes for an interim deal; Iran says it could reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days if Washington meets its seven demands.
An Israeli military spokesperson said Israel was not involved in the latest reported strikes.
