Trump and Netanyahu agree to end yearly US Israel military aid

Trump says nearly $4 billion a year in US military aid to Israel will stop after this year, with Netanyahu assent; Israel may still buy US weapons.

Donald Trump said the United States will stop yearly military aid to Israel of nearly $4 billion after this year ends.

He said Benjamin Netanyahu agreed and had himself proposed ending the aid; Israel would still be free to buy US weapons.

The announcement comes as Trump faces US voter opposition over support for Israel’s campaigns in Gaza and Iran, shortly before an election.
