Pakistan's wheat support price 2027 raised to Rs4,500 per maund

The wheat support price 2027 in Pakistan is an illustrative figure, Rs500 below the Rs5,000 per 40kg that the Pakistan Kissan Ittehad had demanded.

The PM set the illustrative wheat support price for 2027 at Rs4,500 per maund, Rs1,000 above last year's price.

A maund is 40kg in this context, so Rs4,500 works out to Rs112.50 per kilogram.

Pakistan Kissan Ittehad had demanded Rs5,000 per 40kg, which equals Rs125 per kilogram.

The decision was taken in consultation with the chief ministers of Punjab and Sindh.

The PM's Office cited higher production costs, fuel costs and inflation as reasons for the rise.
