ATC gives Imaan Mazari and husband concurrent 10-year terms

An Anti-Terrorism Court at Adiala Jail convicted the human rights lawyers over an October 2024 security-barrier dispute near Islamabad’s Zero Point, with concurrent terms and fines.

A Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court on Thursday sentenced Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha to 10 years in prison each.

The case, registered at Aabpara Police Station, concerns alleged barrier removal near Zero Point on 25 October 2024 during a Pakistan–England Test.

Both deny the charges as fabricated and retain the right to appeal, expected before the Islamabad High Court.

Defence counsel had asked that the verdict wait for petitions still pending in higher courts.
