Ali Pervez Malik vows crackdown on costly gas sales
The federal petroleum minister said Rs600–700 per kg gas rates are wrong, November supplies are secured, and a planned Friday petrol rise was absorbed by refineries.
Federal Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik said a crackdown on those selling gas at inflated rates will come soon.
He said charging Rs600–700 per kg for gas is wrong.
He said the country faces no fuel shortage and November’s required gas is available; December and January supplies are being arranged.
A planned Rs15-per-litre petrol rise on Friday was not passed to consumers after the prime minister directed oil refineries to absorb the cost.
He said falling global prices would affect local prices the same day.
