Amazon rolls out Ask This Book AI in Kindle software 5.20.2
Software version 5.20.2 brings the interactive reading companion to dedicated Kindles, with spoiler controls, after it first appeared on the iOS app last December.
Amazon is releasing Kindle software version 5.20.2 with the AI-powered Ask This Book tool on supported e-readers.
The feature, already on the Kindle iOS app since last December, answers questions, summarises, and can limit replies to pages already read.
The firmware download is about 643 MB, installs automatically, and needs an internet connection.
It does not work with sideloaded titles or Send-to-Kindle documents; only certain Amazon-published or distributed ebooks are supported.
Device compatibility is still unclear, especially for 2024 models; 2026 models are expected to receive the update.
